My dad was sent to lodge in Shipham, Somerset with 3 other conscientious objectors, while they worked on planting trees on the Mendip Hills, also looking after pigs in the same area.
The daughter of their landlady and my dad got married in July 1942. It was a Quaker wedding. After they married they did some CO work supporting groups of young people on holidays at special centres.
